Sneeky Pete formed in 1977 consisting of the three Cameron Brothers , Wallace, Johnny and Duncan with Donny Findlay, Rab McQuillan and Sandy Brown and various personnel changes through the years, they played regularly in The Dial Inn, The Doune Castle and Saints and Sinners in Glasgow as well as other venues all over Scotland building up a healthy following, Their music was a mixture of self penned Rock/Soul material with the odd cover thrown in. The band earned the well deserved reputation as good solid musicians fronted by charismatic lead singer Wallace who confidently rocked the stage with his exiting, energetic performances.    On the 26th of May 1979 Sneeky Pete played at the Loch Lomond rock festival alongside The Stranglers, Dr Feelgood, The Skids, Third World, UK Subs and The Dickies.   The band released a single on N.O.W. Records (North Of Watford) recorded in Kirkland Park Studios in Strathaven February/March 1979 with the tracks ‘Night Time In The City’ on the A side and ‘Gettin Out’ on the B side pressing 4000 singles which sold mostly in Scotland.  Following on from the relative success of the single they toured Scotland supporting Caravan and Tyla Gang and also supported The Buzzards on their UK tour. In mid December 1979 Sneeky Pete released an album on cassette called ‘Live And Kicking’ on their own SPR label. Later on John and Wallace Cameron went on to perform as well known folk duo The Cameron Brothers, Duncan Cameron and Rab McQuillan played with The Force playing at Kelvingrove in the early 80s. Sadly Wallace passed away in October 2006. Musician and friend Laura McGhee spoke about the time on 2004 when she met Wallace in a Matt McGinn tribute concert on Broadway NYC, "Wallace gave great renditions of songs such as "Manura Manya" and "Foreman O'Rourke", he fulfilled one of his long time ambitions that night by preforming onstage with Pete Seeger", in 2007 Laura took part in a special tribute to Wallace organised  by his brothers Duncan and John in their home town of East Kilbride. These days Duncan and John Cameron run the Riverside Music College in Busby teaching HND courses in various aspects of the music industry for students to learn the necessary skills to properly equip them for a career in music. Final words to Sneeky Pete fan Robert Macs: "I used to follow Sneeky Pete everywhere, The Dial Inn, The Doune Castle, The Elgin to mention a few, I also remember they were top billing at Kelvingrove, I was at the tribute night in 2007 for Wallace organised by John & Dunky  RIP Wallace you were part of my youth and Sneeky were IHO the best band in Glasgow. thanx for the memories guys". Robert.
